Welcome to Bling Club Social of Chicago! I am happy you
found us. A brief introduction of myself and the idea behind
this group.
Anne Smith was born in Hong Kong and has lived and experienced
the various cultures of Australia, China, Thailand, Taiwan,
and the U.S.A. During the early years of her career, she was
a partner of a Trading Company in Australia and later was
being offered the opportunity to an artist's career in singing,
modeling, and has been a TV personality in Hong Kong. During
the course of her life journey, she decided to calm down and
joined the corporate world as the Administrator of Datastream
(now Thomson Reuters) and later Motorola, Inc. in Chicago.
Anne also has a passion for art and is an Accredited Jewelry
Professional pursuing a GIA gemologist diploma. Anne custom
designs jewelry for her customers and is the President of
Anne Haywood Jewellery. During her spare time, she enjoys
Chinese painting and has held various painting workshops in
the British Club of Thailand.
Having lived in Chicago for more than six years, the family
became expatriates on overseas assignments and began their
new adventures. While overseas, Anne has been active in volunteer
work with the various Women's Organizations and learned a
lot about the purpose and function of the groups. She also
cherished the spirit behind each group and came to the conclusion
that women helping women succeed is a great idea! She decided
to form the Bling Club Social group in Chicago, starting with
planning and organizing events to bring women together so
they can get to know each other and benefit from each other's
friendship and experiences. She formed the group in March
2008 and came up with the idea of forming an online media
presence for the group to converse even when they cannot join
the events.
